Ephesians 3:11-13

King James Version (KJV)

11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

(New European Version)

11 according to the eternal purpose which God purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 In whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him. 13 Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

11 Jesus is the Messiah and fulfill His purpose by His death and will completing by His return and will set up His reign as King. He came to set up His kingdom which is established in His death and come to after the second coming.

12 Faith in Him leads us to do the things we do. Our faith in Him gives us our strength. Through Him we can do things we simply can not do on our own.

13 We shine the brightest we the trouble is the fiercest. We should not worry about troubles because He is bigger than any trouble we could face. Struggles will come but He will see us thru them.

Ephesians 3:8-10

King James Version (KJV)

8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

8 Grace is given from God there is nothing we can do to earn it or keep it, it is simply a gift which costs us nothing but cost Him His life. Paul was humble. Paul did many great things for the gospel and was a very important part of God’s plan but Paul knew it was the Lord using Him that allowed him to do the things he did. Paul was called by God to preach to the non-Jewish or the Gentiles. Paul knew His plan for him, we can much easier serve the Lord when we know what He has for us but we like Paul will only figure His plan for us out after we follow in obedience not knowing where He is leading us.

9 People knew of God and followed after their own gods out of fear of the true God. People deep down know that there must be a god but does not mean they accept God. There may be some that reject God so much they can not see the truth of God because they are blinded by their own sins. God made all things and because most people do not accept things being made out of nothing they believe there would have been a creator.

10 God used Paul to bring the message to the world soon Christianity would grow into something Rome could not even take down. Christianity became stronger than the strongest empire ever.

Philippians 1:21-24

King James Version (KJV)

21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

21For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor. Yet what I shall choose I do not know. 23For I am in a strait between two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better. 24Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

21 To live we continue to serve the Lord and continue to seek Him and praise Him and continue to live our lives for Him. To die we receive glory and the reward that is due to us thru the grace of God. The worst thing the world can do to us is kill us and if they due we will be home. They truly can do nothing to us but the Lord has all the power. No one died before called had they planned to die. Many have died in the name of the Lord and I believe He gave them the strength to do so. I believe His children if they are faced with today will be able to do the same and die for the Lord. He died for us; we should be willing to die for Him as well.

22 The believers want at times to leave the troubles of this world and be with the Lord but we should see opportunity to serve Him. The world can get the believer at times and trials that believer faces can cause the believer want to go home. Very few men faced more troubles than Paul and no one would face more than our Lord Jesus. All we face will both worth it when we see Him in glory.

23 The Lord has a plan for the believer while they live other wise the Lord would take them immediately. The Lord has a plan for the believer to spread the gospel which is something we can not do once we go to glory. Glory is something we can not even begin to image and nothing is greater to be with the Lord is to be in the love of the Lord and nothing is greater.

24 Paul had a purpose and had to continue. Many people today think after a time of service or once they reach a certain age that their service is over but if their service were over He would call them home, God stills has a purpose for you as long as you live here. Paul purpose was great but the plan the Lord has for us is as important and we need to be as obedient as Paul was.

Ephesians 3:5-7

King James Version (KJV)

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

5Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit, 6That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs and of the same body and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel, 7Of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effectual working of his power.

5 The word was not shared to everyone. There was a time the word was only given to the Jewish. The word was concealed for years but was revealed when the word became flesh, Jesus. The prophets and apostles wrote the bible by the Spirit leading them any word that was written without the Spirit is not in the bible. There are other writings of biblical characters that may be true but were not inspired to be written down. The word is pure because it is Spirit lead.

6 We Gentiles can now share in the blessing of Jesus. The faith was exclusive to the Jews before Christ came. We have promises of Christ and have His love and now can live in a fellowship with god that was only known to a few before Christ came.

7 It is by God’s grace that we serve Him. The Spirit will lead us into serving Him in was we can only image, we will do things we could not without, this is so we rely on Him and not on our efforts to serve Him. Paul could not have done anything the Lord lead Him to do without the Lord leading Him to do so, we should be the same way and not try to serve the Lord on our own efforts but wait on Him.

Philippians 1:19-20

King James Version (KJV)

19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

19For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 20According to my earnest expectation and my hope so that I shall be ashamed in nothing, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it is by life or by death.

19 Prayers and the Spirit guidance can work wonders. We should bring our troubles to the Lord in prayer this will lift our heavy burden and make us delivered. Thru prayer He become our Lord and delivers us from our sins. Our true help is thru Christ and those He has called. The world can not truly give what we need. We need to confidante in what the Lord has done for us and not doubt Him because of us; His promises are not based on us most of the time.

20 We should be proud in Him, not in ourselves, bringing praise to Him and not ourselves. We should not be ashamed that we follow Him, even in times where this is not easy, He was first hated. We are to show Christ to preach Christ to live as Christ. We should have boldness for Him.

Ephesians 3:1-4

King James Version (KJV)

3 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

1 Paul was sent by the Lord to bring the gospel to the Gentiles and not the Jews; Paul had many dislike him because of this but, it was what God wanted of him and Christianity grew because of him following His plan. We have a purpose and we do not know how much impact it may have but we need to follow Him and trust this purpose for us.

2 Most of the world at this time, first heard the gospel from Paul. Paul preached the grace because it was something unknown and then after they came to faith he taught of how they needed to live.

3 Paul is referring to his conversion which was a testimony that was shared by him many times. Paul’s full conversion is found in Acts. Paul was chosen by God and would be the one God used to develop Christianity from a small sect into a large faith.

4 Paul what so people could know what saw and read the wisdom that was given to him from the Lord. We as believers are to share what we see in a scripture to grow together in faith and learn from one another. Paul’s words were Spirit breathed which is why they are in scripture but not everything he said was put into scripture. Paul had experiences that he shared; we are to do this bringing praise to God.

21 We as the church are designed to serve Him. We are held together by our faith in Him and come together to serve Him. Jesus brings each of us to faith and develops us into the people He wants us to be.

22 We hold the Spirit of God in us as believers. We should will in a way that brings honor to the Spirit that lives within us.

Ephesians 2:18-20

King James Version (KJV)

18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

18 The Spirit we have excess thru is the Holy Spirit which all believers receive upon receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Spirit guides us on a personally level, the areas the word does not cover, such as what way does the Lord want me to serve to bring glory to Him, the word covers that we should serve Him but also states everyone is not called to do the same thing this is why we need the Spirit so we know what to do at these time. We can not gain access to God without the Spirit gained thru Jesus. Many people think there are many ways to God but there is only one Way.

19 We are saints along with those who have passed. We are made into the family of God thru Christ and we have His Spirit.

20 Jesus is the rock the church is built on, He should also be the corner stone to our faith. The prophets spoke of Christ before He came. The Apostle spoke of Christ after He left. What we know about Jesus and His word was written by the apostles and prophets by the Spirit leading them and giving them the words to pen, the same Spirit will lead us as believers if we follow.

Ephesians 2:16-17

King James Version (KJV)

16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

16And that he might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having killed the enmity by it. 17And he came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.

16 We are united to God by receiving Jesus as Lord; He is our Savior from what we deserve. Jesus died and the sins we commit died with Him, this is why the only sin that is unforgiving is not receiving the Holy Spirit or blaspheming the Holy Ghost.

17 Jesus did not go to a big area but did go to the places most did not in that area place such a Samaria which most would avoid. Jesus impact affected the world and Rome could not stop this effect and years later embraced it and made it their own. Jesus did not just spread the message to the Jews but spread it to anyone He came into contact that would listen, we should follow the example He set, we will not be able to live up to it but it should be what we strive for.

Philippians 1:15-18

King James Version (KJV)

15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to make in himself of two one new man, so making peace, 16And that he might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having killed the enmity by it. 17And he came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18For through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. 19Now

15 Some who claim Christ do in an attitude to look good themselves or to make others look good, this is not what good wants. We should do good things just because God wants us to do them. We do things out of love, a love that we have received from Him first.

16 The gospel is a gospel of love if we defend the gospel it should be done out of love and not hate and if we can not balance the two we are not called to defend the gospel because we as believers are all called to love. Paul defended the gospel out of love as should we.

17 Many people make money off the name of Christ, if they could not money off His name would they be sharing His name like they do. Many people wanted to get rid of Paul even some of the faith had problems with him at a point even Peter had trouble with Paul but he got pass that others did not get past their feelings toward Paul.

18 Even those who proclaim the gospel out of mocking those who preach men have been saved. Their was a now famous preacher who preached before crowds and some of these people did not like what they heard and went to bars and mocked him and men heard and accepted the truth out of the mockery of the truth. The Lord can do wonders like this. Now days the gospel can be spread more easily than ever before, phone, internet, email, forums, chat rooms, in person at church or else where, we should take advantage of these opportunities as God leads us to.
