Anyone have any suggestions for community outreach? We really want to go after reaching the un-churched in our area.
What have you done that works or didn't work? Or just ideas.
Thanks!

Hello SB,
It's great that your looking for ways to reach out to the lost in your community. I think the best outreach comes from personal interaction. You can have a beautiful Church, the best signs, newspaper ads, etc but this is not going to make many people want to come visit your Church. Encourage your members to get out into the community and personally invite others to Church. Making visitors feel welcomed and a part of the Church family will make a big difference in their decision to come back again next week.
Good luck and God bless!

Here are some things we are working on implementing at our Church:
·Info in vestibule & hallway bulletin board highlighting all programs
·Visitor cards in pews. Encourage visitors to fill them out and put them in the offering plate. Follow up with every one of them!
·Press releases for upcoming events and success stories
·Church invitation door hangers to place on the houses around the Church.
·Promote/report on a different ministry each month during Sunday service
·Church signs with events listed.
·Church Service invitations outlining week’s events. Insert in bulletin. Challenge everyone to find someone to give it too & invite.
·Preach on a series. Sunday service and during the week. Keep them coming back next week to hear the next part
·Moms morning out
·Parents night out
·Family movie night
·Community events. Fall fest, trunk or treat, etc.
·Visitor Only parking spaces by the entrances. New Visitor packets when they come in
·Fun day at an area park. Try to pick a busy Saturday and invite others at the park to join us for lunch and a short message
·Host a blood drive

This is not a easy thing to do in some areas. Many people assume that everyone know's there are great things going on at their Church. This is just not the case. You need to get out into the community and be seen. Make sure the public knows when you have special events or services going on!
